In February of 2006 Larry Davenport introduced the The"VOS" to us.
He explained to us that it would help keep the oil clean of the harmful chemicals that were introduced into the oil through the combustion process. It would clean the oil at a rate of 8 gallons per hour. Larry said that it would remove the water, fuel, acids and the carbon gases and by doing this it will keep the viscosity at the proper level and maintain the TBNs without removing the additives.
We were told that The "VOS" will last the lifetime of the bus with little or no maintenance. We also understood that the oil in our buses would last from 4 to 10 times longer. We were impressed with the quality of the"VOS" and its apparent durability. In March 2006 it was determined by the Maintenance staff to try the "VOS" on two of our older buses, knowing that if they worked on the older buses then it should be even better on the newer buses.
The test units were installed on buses 9515 and 9521. Bus 9515 was in better condition than bus 9521. After we had skipped 5 oil changes, the oil in both buses was still in good condition. The Soot and Copper on Bus 9521 was at the point the oil and filter needed changing although the oils’ viscosity, additives and TBN numbers were within the normal level. On bus 9515 everything was well within the limits and the Iron has leveled off at about 38 ppm.
We were so impressed with the VOS" that we are installing them on 15 new buses that have the new ERG system.
